Summer flowering Old Roses are historic beauties, full of intensely fragrant blooms, that will flower around mid summer, generally during June/July in the UK. The sheer mass of bloom is often unsurpassed by repeat flowering varieties. Many have been with us from ancient times but they reached their peak around 1840. The colour palette ranges from white through shades of pink to lilac, purple and maroon. With their subtle hues and matt foliage the overall effect is one of calm and beauty. Their petals are ideal for making rose water or pot-pourri.
