More about Modern Shrub roses:
Modern Shrubs are a large assortment of mostly more modern hybrids of very mixed ancestry. All highly useful in their own individual ways. For the most part they were developed in the 20th century and do not fall into other groupings.
Octavia Hill was created in commemoration of the founding member of the National Trust. It has old-fashioned style blooms of warm pink with a spicy tea-scent. Free flowering and very healthy, it forms a pretty, compact shrub.
Pruning Guide: Prune in February/ March. Prune very lightly in the first year, reducing stems by no more than 1/3. In subsequent years, growths can be reduced by up to 1/2 to leave a beautifully shapely plant.
