More about Modern Shrub roses:
Modern Shrubs are a large assortment of mostly more modern hybrids of very mixed ancestry. All highly useful in their own individual ways. For the most part they were developed in the 20th century and do not fall into other groupings.
Night Owl is a fantastic new shrubby floribunda. Repeat flowering, its semi-double dark purple blooms open to very prominent yellow stamens. A Gold Standard Award winner with a spicy scent, this is a wonderful tall shrub – or even a short pillar – rose.
Pruning Guide: Prune in February/ March. Prune very lightly in the first year, reducing stems by no more than a third. In subsequent years, growths can be reduced by up to a half to leave a beautifully shapely plant.
